General Information

St. Patrick’s Primary School Aughadarragh is situated in a peaceful, picturesque and rural location, some four miles from Augher and quite close to the Tyrone Monaghan border. It was opened in 1964 and serves the area surrounding the school, with some children travelling from the neighbouring villages. Children travel to school by bus, taxi and car.

At present the enrolment at the school is 86. The staff comprises of a Teaching Principal and three full-time teachers. The teaching staff bring a variety of interests, specialisms and academic qualifications that undoubtedly enrich the quality of service on offer. The teaching staff are assisted by a highly motivated team of support staff that includes the school secretary, caretaker, canteen staff, classroom and domestic assistants.

The main school building comprises of a spacious foundation stage classroom, dining room, staffroom and toilets. In November 2016 two new modular buildings replaced the old mobiles, providing three new modern classrooms, office and toilets. The school grounds which comprise of a play yard to the front of the building and a football pitch to the side, are maintained throughout the year being used for a variety of sporting, academic and community activities.
