Celebrating Maths Week!
17th Oct 2024
Maths Week Ireland is an all-island initiative promoting positive attitudes towards maths and highlighting the importance of maths in our lives. Our school has registered to take part, along with 40,000 other schools across the country. All classes focused on Outdoor Numeracy Lessons.
P1-P2 used some conkers and pine cones from last week’s autumn walk for their outdoor maths lessons. Primary 1 focused on making sets of 5 and Primary 2 were counting in 2s.
P3-P4 created a shop (money topic) in our sensory garden, P5-P6 created a ‘Human Number Line’ on the yard (Rounding to the nearest 100) and P7 explored a life-size co-ordinate grid.
